This book was an interesting read for me. Beginning with research, it led into a story about enlightenment. More specially, a drug that will swoop you into enlightenment within minutes of consumption. The level of detail throughout was overwhelming for me because I do not have a science background.
Meet Ananya. He is a college student who falls in love with a girl. She leaves him heartbroken and so to mend his broken heart, Ananya sets out to discover the perfect drug that will deliver users a higher level of consciousness. Will he be successful in its creation?
I have to say, Saini wrote a unique plot that doesn’t touch anything I’ve read before. It covers topics like spirituality, philosophy and science and while I found it slow in the beginning, did enjoy the story.
I will admit to skimming over the more scientific parts that I was not able to understand or grasp, mainly because when I read I don’t really want to do too much learning. That’s just personally not what I’m signing up for with a fiction book.
If you like a book with an interesting plot and actually passed science class (I’m convinced my science grades were a gift hahaha) then I’m pretty positive you will find this to be a delightful, enlightening, and interesting read. If you are not that strong in the sciences like myself, you may be left wondering if you should audit a high school science class.
