This is a beautiful, sweet novella revolving around an arranged marriage. This was my first read from this author so I was not sure what to expect, but was delighted that I could finish this in less than 20 minutes. It’s the perfect lunchtime or getting-out-of-a-slump read!
Meet Maria. Readers journey with her as she navigates the emotional complexities that come with an arranged marriage. She is set to marry a man named Kai. She does not know much about him, other than he is arrogant and used to the attention of women. Cue the biggest groan because we all know someone like Kai. Her family is more than a little bit frustrating… you’ll see what I mean.
Lafir left me wanting more and is delivering another novella in the series! I did love the twist and ending, but that’s all you’re getting out of me regarding that.
Thank you, Ciera Parr, for an eARC in exchange for my honest review! Want to grab yourself a copy? Find it here.
