I really enjoyed this book and found it a delight to read. Make Me a Double by Raina Joy Wilder is a dual POV romcom with laugh-out-loud hijinks, pranks, and witty banter that readers will throughly enjoy. Add this to your TBR, it’ll be a great read even after the summer is over!
Meet Isadora. She scrimped and saved to open Gertrude’s her Literary Bar. Meet Chuck. He’s the only son of an American football millionaire and is gifted a sports bar called Brady’s. The problem? Chuck’s bar is next door to Gertrude’s AND they’re opening on the same day. He thinks she’s pretentious, while she thinks he’s living off of his father’s money. Will their feud disrupt business and get in the way of the two business owners getting to know each other?
I really enjoyed how Wilder portrayed the growth and change in both of the main characters. It really left me wanting to read more of their story when I came to the final page. I read this in one sitting and found it hard to put down, so I only paused while I went to church. Tea, a cozy blanket, and Make Me a Double were waiting for me when I got home. I’m looking forward to rereading a physical copy and having it in my home library.
